The problem

Batteries, swapping stations and field teams were tracked in separate tools. Operators found out about failures from riders, and nobody could say where a given battery was or why a station was down.

What I did

  1. Field research with station managers, ops teams and fleet technicians to map failure modes, alerting gaps and downtime drivers.
  2. Defined APIs for serialized battery inventory, stock reconciliation, swap logistics and asset movement across 850+ locations.
  3. Designed real-time asset health and telemetry dashboards so ops could act before riders noticed.
  4. Set KPIs around downtime, utilisation, MTBF proxies and SLA adherence, tracked in Mixpanel, GA and custom ops dashboards.

Outcome

Operational efficiency up 250% and rider retention up 40%; the same asset base supported 3× revenue through better utilisation and routing.
